Baylee Ipock

Owner/Director

Baylee Ipock is the current owner of Wanda Kay's School of Dance. Baylee started dancing at the age of three and continued to dance at Wanda Kay's for 15 years. Baylee danced under both Wanda Kay Thompson and Amy Thore. She was a student assistant throughout high school and assisted class instruction for two and a half years after graduating under the instruction of Amy Thore. She then taught under Claire Crawford. Baylee has a love for ballet and tap but enjoys all aspects of dance, especially the children she gets to work with.

Baylee graduated from New Bern High School in 2015 and is attaining a degree in business administration. Mrs. Baylee always dreamed of owning Wanda Kay's and has never spent a day away from the studio that she wasn’t dreaming about dance. She has loved dance during her time as a student and now as an instructor. Over the course of her time as Owner and Director, Mrs. Baylee teaches over 50% of classes, directs our recitals, and oversees all studio operations. Mrs. Baylee has continued her dance education in the past years from some of the best in the Dance Industry. She attends annual continuing education conventions and makes it a priority to learn and bring back as much as she can from each convention she attends. This past season she attended TJK in Nashville, UDMA in DC, and various online conferences. This Summer she will attend TJK in Big Sky, DTLC in Vegas, and Under the Big Top (Recreational Conference) in Atlanta, to better serve our dancers.

Baylee has a family dedicated to Wanda Kay's with a sister who danced for over 10 years, a niece, nephew, and daughter currently enrolled, a dad who fills in the office as needed, and a husband who manages much of the maintenance at Wanda Kay's. When not in the studio Baylee is with her husband, Logan and daughter, Hatteras. She spends as much time as she can on the water, although most of her days are focused on bettering the studio in any way she can.

Mrs. Baylee has a lifelong love for Wanda Kay's that is shown daily. She strives to make her studio feel like home to every student who walks through the Wanda Kay's doors.
